Garden Buds is an informal volunteer group of parents who will meet regularly to maintain the garden during the 2026 season. Gatherings will include sharing garden concepts and observations with children. The group will kick off the season with an Earth Day event on Wednesday, April 22nd.
Please email info@todpod.org if you are interested in joining Garden Buds! No previous gardening experience required.
Community gardens are gardens that grow anything to benefit a community including fruits, vegetables, or flowers. The gardens are managed by members of the local community, and generally, those people partake of the crops they helped to cultivate.
All are welcome. Stop by anytime! Want to connect with other families? We hold garden meetups in the summer months; see our Calendar for events. When visiting the garden please follow our Garden Safety Rules.
The garden is open for general exploration. Families come to:
mix and mingle with other young families in the garden space (kids love our fairy garden and there is seating for adults)
enjoy time outdoors...there is a playground, Gaga Ball pit, and basketball court adjacent to the garden
check out a book (or seed packet!) from our free little library right outside the garden gate
If you are interested in helping with garden tasks, consider joining our Garden Buds volunteer group!
All ages are welcome! The garden is tailored to children ages 1-5.
No worries! Our garden is the perfect place to start learning.
On May 15, 2024, the Tod Pod Community Garden was born thanks to the vision of a passionate group of parents, a partnership with Bloomington Covenant Church for the plot, and a grant from The Home Depot Foundation to construct the garden.
